Ascentech Provides Product Reliability Testing Instruments to Microtek Labs

Chester, Connecticut, USA – Ascentech, LLC, North American distributor for GEN3 Systems Ltd. products, recently provided Microtek Laboratories, Inc., with laboratory equipment for CAF, ECM and Surface Insulation Resistance testing. In announcing the purchase, Bob Neves, Chairman/CTO said, “We use the GEN3 Systems  AUTO-SIR Testing Systems at both our Anaheim and China facilities. It provides us with the advanced technology necessary for delivering the latest in testing services to our demanding customer base and complies with all of the current testing Standards required by the electronics industry.”

The AUTO-SIR System measures insulation resistance, typically on test coupons, during artificially elevated temperature and humidity condition cycles. The goal of SIR, CAF and ECM testing is to catch dangerous propensities for failure mechanisms, such as unacceptable electrical leakage under humid conditions, corrosion or metal migration. Tests performed are defined by the following Standards bodies: IPC, IEC, ISO, J-STD, Bellcore and others.

Microtek Laboratories offers the full spectrum of electronic interconnection test and education services.
